Component Marking

Traceability of components is key to many industries.

Many parts need marking with serial numbers, product codes or user instructions and warnings. Components that require EU compliance need CE marking and many components need traceability. Laser etching offers a permanent, aesthetic and non-damaging solution. Laze-Etch can offer Laser marking of a multitude of materials including; all metals, alloys, carbides, ceramics, composite materials, carbon fibre and most plastics.

Data Matrix 2D Barcodes

2D Barcode Example Laser engraving a Data Matrix is a two-dimensional matrix symbology that packs a lot of information into a small area. It has a high degree of redundancy and even if up to 20% of the matrix is missing or damaged it can still be read. The code consists of a square or rectangle of black and white square modules that can allow up to 3116 numeric or 2335 alphanumeric characters to be stored in a very small area. Some demanding applications, such as small Titanium or Stainless Steel surgical implants, require up to 50 characters to be stored in an area just 2mm square.

High Security Tamper Evident Labelling

We use 3M materials to offer labels and plates that give clear evidence if they are tampered with. Asset security labels are the mainstay of what Laze-Etch does in this area but we can also provide adhesive plates for a range of security applications. Laze-Etch can supply a full solution where we provide security information etched onto adhesive anodised aluminium or stainless steel plates.  We are also happy to etch onto free issue plates supplied by our customers.
