Laser-Etch & Synap3d – Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Laser-Etch & Synap3d. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of our services and the purchase of our products. By placing an order with us, you agree to abide by the following Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Overview of Services
Laser-Etch offers custom laser engraving and 3D printing services on a range of materials, including:
Anodised Aluminium
Wood (Hard and Soft)
Stainless Steel
Acrylic (Cast and Extruded)
Brass
Slate
Plated Metals
3D Printed Plastics (PLA, PETG, ABS, etc.)
We create bespoke items such as signage, gifts, tags, awards, promotional products, and more.
2. Custom Orders and Artwork
All orders are considered custom and are made specifically to your provided specifications.
Customers must review and approve all artwork proofs, spelling, measurements, layout, and material choices prior to production.
Once an order has been approved and production has begun, no changes or cancellations will be accepted.
If you are supplying your own artwork, you confirm you have the right to use it. Laser-Etch is not responsible for copyright infringements based on client-submitted designs.
3. Material Properties and Product Finish
Many of the materials used (especially anodised aluminium, plated items, and wood) have natural inconsistencies in grain, finish, or tone. These are not considered defects.
Engraved and 3D printed surfaces are susceptible to scratching, chipping, denting, or fading if not handled or maintained properly.
3D printed products may contain visible layer lines, minor stringing, or texture variations. These are normal for the process and not defects unless significantly affecting functionality.
4. Quality Assurance and Acceptance of Goods
We take photos of all finished products before dispatch or collection for quality assurance purposes.
Once a product is collected or delivered, you are considered to have accepted the item in its final condition.
We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or returns on custom-made items unless the item is proven to be faulty due to a production error on our part.
5. Refunds and Returns Policy
No refunds will be issued for:
Errors in the design provided or approved by the customer
Damage caused by mishandling or poor storage after delivery
Minor material imperfections or variations
Wear and tear from normal usage
In the rare case of a production error, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving the product with photographic evidence.
6. Turnaround Times and Deadlines
Standard turnaround times vary depending on the complexity and volume of the order. Estimated lead times will be provided at the time of ordering.
While we strive to meet all deadlines, we are not liable for delays caused by material shortages, courier delays, or force majeure events.
Rush jobs may be subject to a priority fee and are accepted at our discretion.
7. Intellectual Property and Image Usage
We reserve the right to photograph all completed products for our portfolio, website, and social mediaplatforms.
If you do not want your item photographed or published, please inform us in writing at the time of ordering.
All artwork, designs, and layouts created by Laser-Etch remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.
8. Limitation of Liability
Laser-Etch will not be held liable for:
Any damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, or mishandling of products
Lost profits, lost business opportunities, or any indirect or consequential damages
Maximum liability for any claim shall be limited to the value of the original product or service provided.
9. Delivery and Collection
Collection is available by appointment. Please check collection times in advance.
Delivery is available via Royal Mail or courier services. Once an item has been handed over to a postal service, we are not responsible for delays or loss in transit.
Tracking can be provided upon request for courier deliveries.
10. Care Instructions
Avoid using abrasive cleaners or rough cloths on engraved surfaces.
Keep products away from extreme heat, moisture, and chemicals unless specified as safe.
3D printed parts should not be exposed to prolonged sunlight or high temperatures as this may warp or degrade the plastic.
11. Privacy
We collect your name, contact details, and order information strictly for communication and processing purposes.
Your information is never shared with third parties, except where necessary for order fulfilment (e.g. shipping providers).
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the U.K, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts therein.
